The Biotechnology Group of the Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences, DIAS, is a small research team engaged in plant breeding related research. We are situated on the the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University campus and we are partner to the Center of Molecular Plant Physiology, PlaCe.

Major research themes comprise:

• The mechanisms and genetics of resistance against potyviruses



• The biosynthesis and turnover of plant cell wall polysaccharides



• Transformation technology and the use of gene silencing in functional genomics

All projects comprise a mix of applied and fundamental science, and applied aspects of several of our projects rely on the use of transgenic crop plants in agriculture.
